Events and event types
Events is under Content. Some events arrive automatically from your events feed; you can also create events directly in the CMS, and the feed will never touch or overwrite those. There's no draft state or version history here — saving an event publishes it immediately.
Synced vs. manual
Every event has a Source field (Manual or Tangilla), which is read-only and tells you where it came from:
- Tangilla — arrived from your events feed. Its sync fields (Tangilla Event ID, Last Synced) are read-only. If you edit a synced event, your change is overwritten the next time that event updates at the source — fix it there instead. See What's synced and what you can edit.
- Manual — created directly here. The feed ignores these completely; use this for anything the feed doesn't carry.
Fields that matter
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Title and Preview Message | Both required |
| Description | Rich text — the main body |
| Instructor 1/2 Image and Bio | For classes or sessions with a named instructor — leave blank for a plain event |
| Event Start/End Date | Required |
| Action Button | "Register" or "Learn more" |
| Featured On | Where it can appear — Homepage, Events page, and/or the Side Panel of other content |
| Event Types | Required — see below |
| Categories | Required, one only |
| Member Only | Hides it from visitors who haven't signed in on the public website |
Events also has a Side Panel field (see Side panel blocks) but no separate content-block layout tab — the Description field above is the event's body copy.
Event Types
Event Types, under Site Features, is a short list you maintain — things like Event, Class, or On Demand. Don't confuse this with Categories (used for general topic tagging across News, Events and E-Notes) — Event Types is specifically about what kind of event it is, and drives the tab filtering on the Events List block's calendar view.
Where these appear on the website
/events/<slug>, plus the Events List block (list, grid or calendar view) and the homepage's Featured/Upcoming Events sections.
